Martin Lewis: 'We have a mortgage ticking time bomb right now'
Money Saving Expert's Martin Lewis has called on the Treasury to sort out affordability tests for home-owners who are looking to remortgage.
Speaking to 5 live's Afternoon Edition, he recommended that the Treasury organised a summit and spoke to experts so that they can agree on the regulations - which he feels currently work well for first-time buyers but restrict opportunities for those looking to remortgage.
"What we're doing with this rule is creating mortgage prisoners and that's going to mean we're going to have repossessions across the country.鈥
