Donald Trump used his first remarks after the result was confirmed to highlight the 2016 election as a 'hard-fought campaign'.

Businessman Anthony Scaramucci is a close adviser and major donor to Donald Trump. He told Today's Jim Naughtie that when signs emerged of a Trump win in Florida, the campaign became confident their man was heading to the White House.
