Appeal launched to keep hoard of Roman coins in the New Forest
An appeal for 拢30,000 has been launched, to keep a hoard of Roman coins discovered in the New Forest.
Some experts had wanted to break up the collection and for at least one of the coins to be kept at the British Museum. But St Barbe Museum & Art Gallery is determined to keep them all together and to display the collection in their museum.
The appeal was launched by historian Dan Snow, close to where the coins were found. Much to the excitement of local school children, as 麻豆社 Radio Solent's Neil Sackley reports.
