The Oxford Book Club - Patrick Neale - 13th September 2016

Al Ryan is joined by Patrick Neale from Jaffe & Neale Bookshop in Chipping Norton. They discuss the Booker Prize Shortlist, which had just been announced. Patrick had, coincidentally, chosen to recommend one of the shortlisted books: His Bloody Project by Graeme Macrae Burnett. It's a novel about a man who murders one crofter and two children in 1869, all told through documents of the period.
Patrick also reviews the Royal Society Science Prize shortlisted book The Hunt For Vulcan by Tom Levenson. And The Lightless Sky by Gulwali Passarlay - the story of how an 11 year-old Afghan boy travelled 12,000 miles, lived in the Jungle in Calais, became a UK citizen and was honoured by carrying the Olympic torch.
