Why have UK politicians met the Syrian leader?
Baroness Cox explains why British peers and Christian leaders met Bashar Al-Assad after they faced some criticism for the visit.
She said they could better put their concerns by meeting him, and they spent five days with ordinary people, and only two hours were spent with the leader.
The peer spoke to Daily Politics presenter Andrew Neil, and guests Anne McElvoy and Matt Forde, about the delegation's bid to appeal to protect the lives of Christians in Syria.
