A 77-year-old gardener from Suffolk is claiming to be winning the war against against a voracious garden pest, the Spanish slug which can destroy even the best-kept gardens.
Rather than accept defeat, Jo Rothery decided to wage war on the unwelcome visitors, after picking up more than 500 in one night which destroyed her patch of leeks.
