The executive principal of Cecil Jones Academy in Southend, Bev Williams, says 15 classrooms have been destroyed in a large fire at the school.
Essex Fire and Rescue Service says it's investigating the cause, although there are no suspicious circumstances.
Ms Williams says she's confident the school will reopen as normal for the start of term.
