3D printer reboots penguin’s mobility
3D printing has been rebooted - to help create bespoke footwear for a penguin in the United States. Purps the Penguin lives in the Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut. Children from a local school decided to create her a comfortable but supportive boot – after they acquired a 3D printer to help with their studies. Gareth Mitchell heard how chief vet Dr Jen Flower assessed the bird’s injury before the boot was fitted.
