Shoshanah Sievers: Les nuances de la Lumière
Shoshanah is a 15-year-old composer and violinist from Surrey. She joined the Junior Department of the Royal College of Music in 2010 and, at the age of 11, became the youngest ever winner of the Joan Weller Composition Competition. Last year she was selected by the Martin Read Foundation to have her piano trio Turbulent Stillness performed and recorded. She performs extensively on the violin and in 2012 she won the Hugh Bean Memorial Competition for violinists in the RCM Junior Department, playing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto.
In 2016, Shoshanah was selected from hundreds of entrants as one of the winners in the Lower Junior Category of the annual Â鶹Éç Proms Inspire Competition. His winning piece, Les nuances de la lumière, was performed by Aurora Orchestra, conducted by Nicholas Collon, at a Proms Extra event at the Â鶹Éç’s Radio Theatre on 15 August 2016.
