Simon Callow: Orson Welles at 100

The actor discusses One-Man Band, the third volume of his biography of the cinema giant, at the Edinburgh International Book Festival.

Not just a great actor, Simon Callow has now also shown that he is a gifted biographer. In One-Man Band, the third volume of his biography of cinema giant Orson Welles, Callow skilfully charts the later years of Welles’ life, painting a vivid and often very funny portrait of a troubled genius enduring a cocktail of triumph and decline.

In this event, recorded at the Edinburgh International Book Festival on 18 August 2016 and chaired by Al Senter, Callow reveals an actor’s insights into a highly complex artist.
