Held hostage by IS
The last Western hostage to be released alive by so-called Islamic State militants has told this programme in his first British interview that he feels sorry for so-called Jihadi John and his other kidnappers.
In 2013, photographer Daniel Rye was in Syria to document the lives of people affected by the war, when he was seized by IS.
For 13 months he was held hostage, along with British aid worker David Haines, British taxi driver Alan Henning and US journalist James Foley - three men who were executed by the group.
Rye has now written a book about his ordeal. He explained to Victoria why he decided to travel to Syria.
