Edinburgh Nights: Richard Wilson and Angus Deayton
Kirsty Wark speaks to One Foot in the Grave stars Richard Wilson and Angus Deayton about their long associations with Edinburgh and about resurrecting their much-loved characters and sketches from the past.
Wilson and Deayton both appeared in the classic 麻豆社 television comedy One Foot in the Grave. Wilson was due to revive his character Victor Meldrew for a Fringe show based on an episode from the series entitled the Trial. He discusses working with Deayton and with writer David Renwick.
Angus Deayton is in Edinburgh to reprise classic scripts from 1980s Radio 4 series Radio Active, which he co-wrote with the late Geoffrey Perkins. The show was picked up by Radio 4 after its appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe, and later transferred to 麻豆社 Two as KYTV.
The interview was recorded for 麻豆社 Two's Edinburgh Nights. Sadly, since recording, Richard Wilson has had to withdraw from performing at the Fringe due to ill-health.
