Missing emu: Bird found in Glemsford

A one-year-old male emu that escaped in Whepstead, near Bury St Edmunds, has been found nearly 10 miles away in a garden in Glemsford.

It's thought the bird was "spooked" by a fox on Wednesday morning, causing him to jump out of his enclosure where he lives with five other emus.

The bird, which does not have a name, was herded into a stable by Julia Monk where he seemed happy to "dine on horse feed", she said.

Bernard King, who owns the birds, said he was very much looking forward to being reunited with his runaway.
