Tiguidanke Camara - from model to miner
It is a long way from the fashion catwalks of New York City to the gold mines of west Africa. But one young entrepreneur has had a foot in both camps.
Born in Guinea, Tiguidanke Camara studied business in Morocco where she started modelling. From there she became a full-time model in New York and was featured in magazines like GQ and Marie Claire.
It was while modelling jewellery that she discovered some of the gold and diamonds she was wearing came from her home country.
Seven years ago she returned to Guinea and set up her own mining company. The 麻豆社's Matthew Davies sat down with her and asked about her journey from model to miner.
