Why Sam Cooke's 'A Change Is Gonna Come' became a Civil Rights anthem
Amongst the dread, fear and violence of the 1964 Freedom Summer in Mississippi, political scientist Professor Mary King describes how Sam Cooke鈥檚 record became a symbol of hope: "No matter what I鈥檓 doing, I stop and I listen to the song, because it鈥檚 grabbed my heart."
