PC Ali Maidment and Sgt Ali Livingstone are attending the Police Federation Bravery Awards in London tonight.

They were nominated for rescuing a woman from her burning home in Ipswich on Christmas Day.

They had to break into the house and battle thick smoke before Sgt Livingstone found the woman inside a bedroom by crawling on his hands and knees.

She had passed out, and both officers had to drag her away from the blaze. Seconds later the windows began to explode. Sgt Livingstone tells their story.
