A father and son have been sweeping up after their house in Brentwood, Essex, was hit by flooding.

Jake Buckley, who is 17 today, said he hadn't yet opened his birthday cards and had instead been helping his dad Kirk with the clean-up operation.

Homes, transport and roads across the county have all been badly affected by heavy rain overnight and into Thursday morning.
