The expense claims of EU officials "have got quite a lot better", said a Labour MEP and former European Council spokesman.
Richard Corbett was responding to claims by the Vote Leave campaign about 拢27 million spent on luxury items in one year, including 拢176,280 on luxury hotels, 拢931 on chocolate, 拢18,750 on chauffeur-driven cars and 拢42,657 on corporate away days.
Mr Corbett said the group, which wants the UK to leave the EU in next week鈥檚 referendum, had been responsible for "pretty dodgy figures" in the past.
