Salford mayor: Benefit sanctions causing crisis
A new report conducted by Salford City Council claims that benefits sanctions are plunging the poor and desperate into crisis in Salford.
The city's mayor, Labour's Paul Dennett, says some local people are struggling to afford food, heating and essential costs, and the problem is particularly affecting young people.
He debated benefits with former Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith.
