A new book suggests that when it comes to Iraq, Nigeria and other areas of conflict, we might learn a thing or two from the experience of Colombia.

Among the authors is David Kilcullen, the man who devised the US counterinsurgency strategy termed "the surge" in Iraq. He explains how lessons from ending Colombian's "FARC" insurgency can be applied around the world.
