The Turkish author Elif Shafak discusses identity, cultures and nationalism and why a sense of 'multiplicity' is important.

"Instead of using identity, I prefer 'belongings'. I think it's possible to feel attached to more than one place, one city, one culture, one language. It's possible to have multiple cultures, and multiple homelands."
