A Celebration of Beer
Â鶹Éç Radio Berkshire is celebrating Reading’s brewing heritage, as part of Reading Year of Culture 2016.
We'll be telling the fascinating story of how Reading beer was transformed from a disgusting swill hated by locals, to an ale loved all over the world.
Step back in time with a wonderful collection of memorabilia from Reading pubs. Meet members of one of Reading’s most renowned brewing families, the Simonds, and learn why their ancestors’ beers – like their 1880s bitter and 1920s Hop Leaf Pale Ale – became world-famous.
It’s on Tuesday 26th April at 3Bs at Reading Town Hall. Entry is free but you have to be 18+.
Event starts at 1930. Doors open at 1900.
