"It's not something neat and tidy on the side like a cup of hot cocoa and a sticky bun."
Tom Service interviews the British composer Michael Finnissy, who celebrated his 70th birthday last month. Finnissy鈥檚 huge body of work and his approach to music is a testament to the way he interrogates life, and to his absolute belief that music has meaning in connection with the wider world. He talks to Tom about the origins of this attitude, and how he takes inspiration from everyday life.
