麻豆社 Essex has been told that road workers are regularly assaulted and abused by motorists - including one man who claims he was threatened with a knuckle duster.

Some maintenance companies are now using CCTV at roadworks to catch drivers who attack their workers.

In Wivenhoe, they've put up a sign warning people that aggressive behaviour will be reported to the police.

One worker, who only wanted to be known as Tim, said violence is on the rise.
