"We need to protect our local hospital at all costs." That's the emphatic message from campaigners in Leicestershire as uncertainty grows over Hinckley and District Hospital. The Victorian hospital built in 1899 sits in the heart of the town and, according to the NHS website, caters for patients with heart issues, diabetes and some surgeries. But health bosses have described some of its services as not fit for purpose, and a consultation is due on its future this summer. No decision has yet been made but many in the town are worried it could mean the hospital's end. One of them has been speaking to 麻豆社 Radio Leicester's Manish Verma.
Also, "simply overwhelming." That's how the senior ranger in charge of one of Leicester and Leicestershire's most popular parks has described the debris left behind after the recent flooding. It's making an already difficult situation worse for staff at Watermead Park - just days before the Easter weekend. And a big clean-up isn't likely any time soon. Whilst dog walkers in Blaby are being urged to check their pockets for a plastic bag before setting out. New rules look set to be introduced in the district over the next few months - establishing something called a Public Space Protection Order - for all public spaces in the district.
And, Easter is one of the busiest times of year for one local business. It's a time of year, which for a lot of people, signifies chocolate but not just eggs. So where better to go to on the Tuesday before Easter than a local chocolate maker Hannah's in Quorn to find out how chocolate creations are done?
