Do Sweatshops Empower or Exploit Women?
A growing number of women in are the main wage-earner in their households
In the factories of Guatemala and other developing countries, female employment is high but hours long, conditions poor and pay low. Have these 'sweatshops' empowered women by giving them more control over the household budget, or should they simply be eliminated?
