Chinese and British scieintists work to contain an outbreak of alveolar echinococcosis (AE), a parasitic liver disease, in north-west China. Chinese scientists believe fossil fish are 500 million years old in the early Cambrian period. A new book, Alfred Russel Wallace in the Amazon by Sandra Knapp, about the British naturalist and evolutionary theorist.
