Calls for junk food TV advert ban
A new poll suggests three quarters of adults want it to ban adverts for junk food before the 9pm watershed. Junk food includes big fast-food chains as well as sweets, chocolates, crisps and sugary drinks. Unhealthy food can not be promoted during programmes specifically aimed at children but there are no restrictions on what can run during family shows like the X factor or soaps before 9pm.
