David Davies: Jimmy Hill 'changed my life'

The former FA chief executive, David Davies, has told 5 live Jimmy Hill 'changed my life.'

He was paying tribute following the death of the former broadcaster and footballer who died aged 87.

Mr Davies told Adrian Goldberg "he changed my life on a famous day in 1991. Jimmy Hill tossed the coin for who would have the choice of team and I won the toss and I said I wanted to be with Tottenham and Terry Venables. And I then went to the FA with Terry Venebles a number of years later, and that changed my life."

He also revealed that he "used to stand on the terraces by the river there at Fulham and I used to shout rude things at Jimmy Hill as a player" and that Jimmy Hill "was one of these people who, when you met him, you felt better about life."
