"I forgave my father's killer"
Jean Paul Samputu is an award-winning musician from Rwanda - in 1994, his mother, father, three brothers and his sister were murdered in the genocide. When Jean Paul returned to his village after the killings, survivors told him that his father was killed by one of Jean Paul's closest friends. Over the last 20 years, Jean Paul has turned his anger into forgiveness - he has forgiven the man who killed his father and has set up a global forgiveness campaign. And next week, he will be releasing a new album called "Only Love", which contains songs about his home country but also focuses on the plight of refugees and migrants braving the desert and the Mediterranean Sea in search of a better life in Europe. Julian Keane caught up with Jean-Paul when he came into the Newsday studios in London. (Picture: Jean Paul Samputu / Credit: 麻豆社)
