Should Britain use military force against so called Islamic State? That's the question that will be on MP's lips today as the government turns its attention to Syria. David Cameron is due to make an announcement in the commons this morning asking MPs to consider air strikes to tackle the terrorist group. The prime minister says he's intending to combine a political, a diplomatic and a humanitarian strategy to counter the threat of Islamic State fighters. Its thought there'll be a full debate and vote soon afterwards.
Also, over 11,000 Christmas parcels are being sent out from Leicester today on their way to children in Swaziland. It's all a part of 'Operation Christmas Child', which is run by the charity Samaritans Purse. They send shoeboxes of gifts to poor, refugee and orphaned children all over the world every year. And for many of them, these gifts will be the only presents that they'll receive. Volunteers have been packing up the shoeboxes in a big warehouse at the New Covenant Church in Freemans Common- and 麻豆社 Radio Leicester's Bridget Blair has been to meet them.
And, with just under a month until Christmas Day - a little baby has been found lying in a manger - not in Bethlehem this time, but in New York. The child was left in a nativity scene at a church in the city and was found crying, by a church custodian.
