Safety issues with food, from bacteria to chemical substances and cancer-causing parasites. Food safety is a global public health issue, and food poisoning is a large scale problem. It is estimated that one third of the world's population are infected from bacteria in food. Up to 2 million people die every year from diarrhoea caused by food poisoning, with children and older people most at risk.
