Australia's Stolen Generation
Cecil Dickson was taken away from his parents when he was just four years old
"I can clearly remember that day. I remember the policeman coming up in a big, dark car. I remember him bundling us into the car, more or less dragging us away from our mother. I was hanging onto my mother's dress... I remember them taking us to a jail. We were put in the jail for the rest of that day and that night."
When Cecil Dickson was taken away from his parents he was just four years old. It was the policy of the Australian government to bring up Aboriginal and mixed race children in European families or children's homes.
