More women in work 'makes economic sense' for India
Only about a third of India's working age women are in paid jobs and the World Bank has just put out a report on the employment difficulties women face.
They included restrictions on women entering some industries and a lack of laws to protect them from sexual harassment.
But the report did also highlight some positives - including new laws forcing stock market-listed companies to have at least one woman on the company board.
The 麻豆社鈥檚 Shilpa Kannan asked the World Bank's managing director Sri Mulyani Indrawat why getting more women in work was so important.
