Museums, Benches & The Apprentice
Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.
It's been almost three months since the Snibston Discovery Museum closed its doors to the public for the final time. Leicester's mayor says he may create a new museum, to house old exhibits from Snibston. Sir Peter Soulsby says the closure of the county run attraction has presented opportunities for the city. Among the old exhibits at Snibston was an old ice cream van, that was owned by George Cox in the 1930s.
Also, shoppers in Loughborough this week will be able to celebrate 100 years of Ladybird books, while taking the weight off their feet - thanks to eight new benches. They've been hand-painted to feature the art from some of the most popular books from the collection - including Shopping with Mother, and Cinderella. It's all part of the town's Loogabooruga festival, celebrating children's literature.
And, Sir Alan will see you now. The boardroom is open again and 18 new candidates will be clawing their way past each other to be crowned The Apprentice. Starting tonight, Alan Sugar will be looking for the right person to invest in. Last time, he chose Australian Mark Wright and his "Climb Online" digital marketing company. So how does winning change your life, and what is it really like to go through those 12 weeks of hell?
