Ramadan in Gaza one year on
For some Muslim communities fasting during Ramadan, they find themselves in challenging situations.
A year ago for those living in Gaza, the month of Ramadan was a time of conflict. The conflict lasted for 50 days between July and August, and ended in a truce. According to a UN report, on the Palestinian side 2,251 people of whom 1,462 were civilians, were killed. On the Israeli side, 67 soldiers were killed along with six civilians.
Last year in the run up to Eid, 麻豆社's Ruchi Tandon spoke to Arwa Mhanna. She lives in Gaza and works for Oxfam. In this extract Arwa joins Ruchi 12 months on to talk about Ramadan in Gaza in 2015.
