Campaign launches to stop recruits
The UK-based Islamic organisation Minhaj-ul-Quran International has launched a campaign hoping to discourage youngsters from joining so-called Islamic State. The launch, which took place in Westminster last month, saw Minhaj-ul-Quran founder Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri challenge the ideology of IS, and its use of Islamic references.
In this extract Rochdale councillor Asim Raseed, who gave a speech at the launch, speaks to 麻豆社鈥檚 Talat-Farooq Awan about why the campaign has been launched now.
