Alisdair is 53 and a former police officer. He's currently a criminal justice worker and lives just outside Inverness. His son Roddy (Eilidh's older brother) died on the 1st February 2008. It was two days prior to his 17th birthday. He was walking home from a night out with friends when he was hit by a northbound maintenance train at about 3am. It happened on the Culloden Viaduct and Alisdair believes he was disorientated and got lost in the heavy snow and while trying to get home. Roddy loved 'Friends' and 'The Simpsons' and wanted to study at St. Andrews. Alisdair thinks he'd be a journalist by now, if he were alive. Eilidh had a close relationship with her brother and feels that despite exceeding his years, he'll always be the older one. She's training to be a top chef.
