Antonio Sánchez: What Makes A Great Jazz Drummer
Four time Grammy Award-winning jazz drummer Antonio Sánchez, who was responsible for the fantastic drum score on the film Birdman, talks to Mary Anne Hobbs about what makes a great jazz drummer.
Sánchez was born in Mexico City and started playing drums at the age of five. He has played with the likes of Chick Corea and Pat Metheny. His work on Birdman was nominated for a Golden Globe.
