What to do if bitten by a rabid dog
An international team has just published a review that looks at the global burden of rabies caught from dogs. It says that 160 people die each day from the disease, mostly in poor rural areas. Lead author Dr Katie Hampson of Glasgow University tells Graham Easton how rabies could be eliminated, by vaccinating dogs, and how those who鈥檝e been bitten can be cured if they get treated rapidly.
