Belfast Municipal Technical Institute: College by day, War Factory by Night
Known locally as ‘The Black Man Tech’, this college of technology was a state of the art facility for students in the early Twentieth Century. When the war started it was the perfect place for war work, from making hand grenades to testing aircraft linen. All could be done at night as the college had its own electric generator.
Location: College Square East, Belfast. BT1 6DD
