Jez introduces a new discovery from the Â鶹Éç Introducing Uploader – Vula Viel led by Bex Burch.
Vula Viel (meaning 'good is good' in Dagaare) combines rhythms of West Africa with jazz and improvised music in a sound centred around the Gyil – the Dagaare xylophone made of sacred lliga wood and buzzing gourd resonators. The band features Bex Burch (Gyil), Dave De Rose (drums), Simon Roth (drums), Dan Nicholls (keyboard / bass synth), George Crowley (sax), Tom Challenger (sax), Stephen Burke (vibes) and Jim Hart (vibes).
