Amber Valley: Parties making childcare offers

As part of the programme's coverage of 100 seats in the 100 days to the election, Sanchia Berg visits Amber Valley in Derbyshire to look at the election issue of childcare.

One mother picking up her child from a nursery said a party's offer of childcare could sway her vote.

"If it was more hours you could work longer hours, possibly full-time...so yes it would sway me," she said.

Some of the parties have said they will offer wraparound care including breakfast and after-school clubs, but one local school, Street Lane Primary, told our reporter they wouldn't be able to do that.

"I think the idea is a fabulous one and it's one I'd like to say I'd fully support but I'm not sure where I'd be able to house one or how financially I would be able to do that either," the headteacher Natasha Austin-Cooke said.
