Pregnant smoker: "I desperately wanted to give up"
Mel Fallowfield, a mum of two, smoked all the way through her first pregnancy and part way through her second. She then gave up with the help of hypnosis.
She spoke to Today about her experiences following a study in which pregnant women were offered 拢400 in shopping vouchers if they could prove they had stopped.
She said she desperately wanted to give up and that shopping vouchers wouldn't have made a difference.
Speaking to Today's Mishal Husain, she said: "I cut down to about one or two a day. I gave up for a few weeks at a time. It was very tough though".
"People were nice because I think they understood how much and how desperately I did want to give up and just couldn't seem to do it".
