Migraines are a 'misunderstood', debilitating illness says a woman who suffers from extreme cases.

Kate Prince has suffered from migraines since she was three years old and has attended A&E on a number of occasions as a result.

She says that she gets "very weak and very sick", adding there are sides to the illness that people don't understand which "you can't do anything" to help.

Prince says that going to A&E is a "last resort" when other medications have not worked, but "when the pain is so crippling" it feels as though there is "no other option".

Kate's story comes as The Royal Society of Medicine reports that 1 in 10 non-trauma emergency attendances in the UK are headache-related.
