How a Preston convoy helped the Norman Atlantic ferry

A convoy from Preston heading out to Syria has been speaking about how they came to the rescue of the Norman Atlantic ferry that caught fire while sailing from Greece to Italy.

The ferry they were travelling on received a may day call from the stricken ship and they were able to provide clothing to the rescued passengers.

The team of volunteers were on a three thousand mile journey with three ambulances packed with winter supplies for Syria when the incident happened.
