Jason Gillespie: Abbott & Hughes were 'very good mates'
Former Australia fast bowler and Yorkshire head coach, Jason Gillespie, said Sean Abbott "was doing his job" when he bowled the ball that killed his friend, Phillip Hughes.
He said Hughes' death was "a freak accident" and this is "not the time" to discuss safety issues in cricket.
25 year old Hughes was hit in the head while batting in Sydney on Tuesday and died on Thursday in hospital.
