This film shows the Leipzig-born author describing the architecture of St James' Church in Barrow-in-Furness, Furness Abbey, St Mary's Church in Dalton-in-Furness and Cartmel Priory.

Pevsner's book series was published in 46 volumes between 1951 and 1974, and covered every major building in England.
