Former Bath rugby union player, David Flatman says people should not criticise footballer Raheem Sterling for not playing due to tiredness because playing through injuries put a "massive dent" in own his career.

Flatman argued that money is irrelevant in playing through injury, saying 鈥渏ust because I was only earning five grand a year doesn't mean it's okay for Raheem Sterling to be tired and me not.鈥�

The ex-England international was earning just 拢100 a week when he joined Saracens but said forcing himself to play through a broken hand, elbow and numerous other injuries "broke" him.
