麻豆社 National Short Story Award 2014
A special edition of Radio 4's Front Row, presented by John Wilson and recorded in front of a 300-strong audience at the 麻豆社鈥檚 Radio Theatre in central London, to mark the 麻豆社 National Short Story Award.
The 拢15,000 prize was won by Lionel Shriver for Kilifi Creek and the runner-up was Zadie Smith, for Miss Adele Amidst the Corsets. The other shortlisted stories were Bad Dreams by Tessa Hadley, The Taxidermist's Daughter by Francesca Rhydderch and The American Lover by Rose Tremain.
The award, held in partnership with Booktrust, was chaired by 麻豆社 Creative Director Alan Yentob. The judging panel included Scribe Publications Editor Philip Gwyn Jones, writer and illustrator Laura Dockrill, poet Adam Foulds, and 麻豆社 Books Editor Di Speirs.
